Dobranotch is an internationally acclaimed world music band originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia. Following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the group left Russia and relocated to Germany.
For more than 25 years, they have been one of the leading voices of the klezmer revival in the former Soviet Union. Their music blends klezmer (Eastern European Jewish), Balkan, Russian, Roma, Middle Eastern, Ukrainian, and Caucasian traditions. While incorporating modern styles and rhythms, they preserve the acoustic sound of a traditional klezmer wedding orchestra.
Whether performing in a club or on a festival stage, Dobranotch can send audiences into a dancing trance. And when they step down from the stage, they become the orchestra of a magical carnival.
Beginning their musical journey as a wandering street band in the French city of Nantes in 1998, they went on to perform at major international festivals around the world. They have appeared at Yiddish Summer Weimar and many other international festivals on numerous occasions.
Now, for the first time, Dobranotch comes to the OMA for a club concert, warming up the Weimar audience for what promises to be a wonderful Yiddish Summer Weimar 2026!
