 968\, Rose Cohen was born in 1897 near Kyiv and em
 igrated to Toronto as a young woman. Descended fro
 m a line of rabbi-cantors\, she brought with her a
  fascinating repertoire of Yiddish ballads\, Hebre
 w prayers and Ukrainian folk songs. </span></p>\n

 ya breathe new life into the intertwined stories o
 f Rose Cohen and her songs’ characters. Atmospheri
