Since 2 017\, around 45–50 young musicians from Israel and Germany have come together at Yiddish Summer Weim ar for three weeks to create an exhilarating conce rt program far removed from political agendas and polarization\, and to present it to an ever-enthus iastic audience.
\n \nThe participants from Israel include both Arab and Jewish musicians\, w hile the German group is a colorful mix of young m usic students from many different conservatories a nd music universities. What they all share is a pa ssion for exciting music and a desire to make musi c together and learn from one another: music\, lan guages\, songs\, dance\, rhythms\, scales\, sh teyger\, maqamat\, and more!
\n \ nCaravan is led by four outstanding musicians from around the world: Polina Shepherd (UK)\, Veronika Varga (HU)\ , Josh “Socalled” Dolgin (CA)\, a nd Ozan Demir (TR). Together they represent the very top international ranks of Yid dish\, Greek\, and Turkish music\, bringing inspir ation and a richly diverse repertoire.
